Roberto Carlos scores an extraordinary free kick against France. The views from behind him show just how much the ball bends during flight. The keeper didn’t move, thinking it was going wide…

A stunning volley from a player who could well be the difference between success and failure for England in the 2010 World Cup. Wayne Rooney epitomizes everything that a footballer should be. He has a huge passion and desire for the game – something which has been missing from certain footballers over the years…

This is still one the greatest goals scored in the English Premiership. From a player, who I believe, retired well before his time, it was a goal of sheer quality.

Great first touch, great balance and a cool finish.

Being from England, this is a hard one to swallow, but I have to say, it is one of the greatest goals I have ever seen.

Maradona tip toes past Peter Reid as if he wasn’t there and then proceeds to dance around the England defence before rounding the keeper and slotting the ball home.

The infamous ‘hand of god’ was inexcusable, but this was pure genius.
